MILC Welcome Letter | IFMA Manufacturing Industrial and Logistics Council
Letter from the President
Dear MILC Members,
As I step into the role of President of the Manufacturing, Industrial and Logistics Council (MILC) for IFMA, I’m filled with enthusiasm for the opportunities that lie ahead in our industry. The landscape of manufacturing continues to evolve rapidly, presenting both challenges and exciting prospects for facility managers who keep our plants running efficiently.
Our focus remains steadfast: to offer programs and services that contribute to the professional success of our members. I’m committed to enhancing our council’s value proposition and addressing the unique needs of our MILC community.
In the coming year, we will continue to prioritize several key initiatives:
- Knowledge Sharing: We’ll expand our monthly webinar series, offering insights specific to manufacturing, industrial, and logistics facility management. These will be complemented by virtual roundtables, providing a platform for members to exchange best practices and problem-solving strategies.
- Digital Resources: Expect to see more content on our website, including whitepapers, case studies, and a toolkit with scopes of work and job descriptions. We’re committed to making our online presence a valuable resource for all members.
- LinkedIn Community: I’m excited to announce that we’ve launched a dedicated MILC LinkedIn page. This platform will serve as a hub for industry news, discussions, and networking. I encourage all members to join and engage with our community at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/ifma-mlic/posts/?feedView=all
- Networking Opportunities: While we adapt to the changing global circumstances, we’re exploring innovative ways to foster connections among our members. We’ll keep you updated on our plans for both virtual and, when possible, in-person networking events.
- Benchmarking: We’ll continue to support IFMA’s benchmarking initiatives and facilitate opportunities for our members to compare practices and performance metrics within our specialized sector.
- International Outreach: Recognizing the global nature of our industry, we’re placing a renewed emphasis on including and engaging our international members.
- Sustainability and Innovation: As we reimagine the factory of the future, we’ll focus on sustainable practices and innovative technologies that can enhance facility management in our sector.
As we navigate the complexities of our industry together, I encourage you to take full advantage of the resources MILC offers. Your active participation and feedback are crucial in ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our membership.
Looking ahead, we’re already planning for World Workplace 2025. While details are still being finalized, we’re committed to creating valuable educational sessions and networking experiences tailored to our MILC community.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. I look forward to working with all of you as we strive to advance the profession of facility management in the manufacturing, industrial, and logistics sectors.
Best Regards,
Aaron Markel, CFM, PMP
